The Spotsylvania County Fire Commission was established in July of 2000. It consist of a representative from each of the agencies that serves Spotsylvania County. Those agencies include the Spotsylvania County Department of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services, Spotsylvania Volunteer Fire Department, Chancellor Volunteer Fire Department, Spotsylvania Volunteer Rescue Squad, and Fredericksburg Volunteer Rescue Squad. The Director for the Spotsylvania Department of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services also serves on the Fire Commision as a non-voting member.
The Department of Fire Rescue and Emergency Services staffs the following fire and rescue buildings:
Engine Company One: 4:40 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
Rescue Station One: 4:40 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday through Firday
Engine Company and Rescue Station Two: 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
Engine Company and Rescue Station Three: 5:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
Engine Company Four: 4:40 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday through Firiday
Rescue Station Four: 4:40 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
Engine Company Five: 4:40 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
Rescue Station Five: 4:40 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
Engine Company Six: 4:40 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
Rescue Station Six: 4:40 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
Engine Company and Rescue Station Seven: 7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Monday throguh Friday
Engine Company and Rescue Station Eight: 4:40 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
Engine Company and Rescue Station Nine: 5:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
The application process for employment with the County recently closed and the employment process is underway. Applicants have been notified of receipt of their applications and positions will be filled as approved by the Board of Supervisors based on the annual budget.
