Frequently Asked
Where will the massage take place?
You can receive your massage in the dedicated massage room in my home, or I can travel to your home or office. Either way, sheets, lotions and music, everything you need for a great relaxing massage...

Should I do anything before the massage?
Do not eat too much just prior to the massage. DO drink a lot of water the day of the massage (though not immediately prior since you won't want to "go" in the middle of the massage). Also, make sure you have set aside time for the massage, so that you can relax and not be distracted. If possible, you might take a hot bath or shower or sit in a hot tub to loosen up your muscles...

What about medical conditions?
Tell me about areas of your body that are injured, tense or sore. Also, mention any medical conditions, such as high blood pressure, a heart problem, chronic headaches, varicose veins or recent surgery. People with   some conditions should NOT receive massage...

What parts of my body will be massaged?
Before the massage, I will ask you if you have any areas that need particular attention. This will allow me to focus on those areas, as well as doing more general work on other parts of your body. A typical full body massage include the back, neck, shoulders, upper chest, stomach, arms, legs, feet, hands (and face if you desire). Let me know, before the massage, if there is any  parts you do not want  touched...

How long does the massage last?
The average session lasts one hour. Sessions as long as 1-1/2 hours or as short as 1/2 hour are also available. For shorter sessions, almost all of the focus will  be on one or two areas of the body...

Will I be completely undressed?
The best way to receive a massage is with the body completely unclothed. People have different modesty levels, I will keep your body covered with a topsheet except for the area being massaged. You may also wear underwear if that is comfortable for you...

What should I do during the massage?
Close your eyes and allow yourself to relax as completely as possible. Focus your attention on your breathing, which should be slow, deep and even. Allow me to move your limbs into various positions. Do not try to help moving your arms, legs or head. Please feel free to speak up if anything I do is painful, ticklish, or uncomfortable in any way. Also feel free to tell me if there is something you particularly like. When I locate areas of pain or tension in your body, consciously try to relax those areas. As you inhale softly and deeply, visualize the breath flowing to the tense area and relaxing it. As you fully exhale, visualize the tension leaving the body with the breath. Feel free to sigh, as vocal feedback helps me to know which parts of the massage feel best for you, and helps you release tension...

What about conversation during the massage?
Conversation is fine, especially if you are still getting comfortable with the massage. You may also have some questions relating to the massage that I will be happy to answer. However, too much conversation can be distracting and take you  away  from your massage experience...

What if I fall asleep?
You may fall aslepp during the massage, an indication that the body is releasing tension and stress. This is not a problem, but a compliment, and shows you are enjoying the benefits of the massage. I will wake you when you need to turn over, or when it is time to leave.

What to do after your massage.

After the massage allow yourself to reorient to the surroundings. Move slowly and support yourself when getting off the table.

Drink plenty of water to flush out your system.
Relax, do not do any heavy lifting or strenuous exercise. Your body will be in relaxed state and could be susceptible to injury.
