Going Back to LCU

Back to home page

Birthday Buddies (Robyn and Shasta) of the team pose with their Birthday Bears (Permie Frost and Tundra) that Aron gave us. Aron is from Anchorage, Alaska, and that is why we named our bears after things that remind us of his native state.

“Hello? Help! I’m being kidnapped by a bunch of college kids who forced me to ride on a 48-hour bus trip! Please send money and bring a plane!” Says “ET” Aron as he phones home.

Now that we can actually lie down all the way, let’s catch a couple of “Zs”. On a layover in St. Louis—Aron makes a call, Amber tries to sleep, Shanna, Kevin, and Shasta rest, and David puts on a happy face. We’re glad to be going home, but we will miss Albany. Don’t even mention that we have to go back to school! On the way up, we did some “warm-up” ministry to the other bus passengers we met, but on the way back, we just wanted to sleep. We did, however, wrap up with a devo on our last layover in Wichita Falls, TX.

The survivors arrive back in Lubbock, TX at 6:30 AM Sunday morning, March 23: David, Robyn, Kevin, Aron, Shanna, Shasta, and Amber. Some of us went back to Lubbock Christian University intact, while others slipped into a coma for a few weeks. ;) But to tell the truth, none of us left the same way we came. We were all changed by our Spring Break Campaign to Albany (hopefully for the better), with spiritual growth.
