March 17

Monday

Since it was my birthday (the big 22), we all ate lunch at the Cracker Barrel, where the staff sang to me and gave all of us these nice desserts.

We held a “Parents’ Night Out” for our host church. Above, Kevin shows off a picture of Jesus that he etched.

Shasta (far right) and Amber (next to her) color some pretty pictures with some of the younger ones. (Left picture)

It wasn’t just the toddlers and small children that we entertained this evening. In the lower left picture, Aron helps one shy teen with her math homework.

That evening, we all went back to the bus station so we could board a bus to New York City. We wanted to be on “The Today Show” for the following morning. In the above/left picture, we (Robyn, David, Aron, Shanna, Amber, Shasta, and Kevin) all sport our T-shirts for the trip that read “Make Me A Servant”. On the back, it has a picture of soapy suds in a bucket for foot-washing. Well, Shanna lost her luggage, so she’s not wearing her shirt.

In the picture on the right, Kevin preaches a sermon in the station, using Shasta’s hands (she’s behind him).
