Logansport has been known as a hotbed of great high school and college referees. Rick Scott has been one of them. He is joined by many others such as John Lozier, Dick Modricker, Butch Jones and Bill Champion, just to name a few.

Joe fired a fastball that was fouled off behind the plate. I reached up to grab it and it hit the end of my finger. It was black and blue for a month. Funny how you remember things like that.
There's always been some debate on who was the best basketball coach in Logansport High School history. My vote is for Jim Jones. He coached Logansport from 1957 through 1969During his coaching career his teams won 12 sectionals, six regionals and appeared in the final four of the state twice. That record will never be broken.He's a hall of famer - probably the last in basketball from Logansport.
