AN INCIDENT TO CLOSE
by kari edwards
every planned locomotion
every none other than doing
moonlight back porch
begging for boredom
begging for a body
not hieroglyphic anxiety
of a general kind
that marks
the boundaries of discomfort
discounting bodies
marked by a
discontinuous discontinuality
a you there when
there is no you there
attendants
attaching
blindfolds to the surroundings
demanding a deliberate
systemic opposites
with beleaguered hunger
in the month of work
crying empty
mobilized in a copy
disappearing buds at
blossom breaks
a former
disputes the latter
a russian roulette
with nothing more than
an incident to close
