Thoughts for Today

About Relationships:

Regardless of how hot and steamy a relationship is at first, the passion fades and there had better be something else to take its place.

My best friend and I can do anything or nothing and have the best time.

True friendship continues to grow, even over the longest distance. The same goes for true love.

Just because someone doesn't love me the way I want them to doesn't mean they don't love me with all they have.

No matter how good a friend is, they're going to hurt me every once in a while and I must forgive them for that.

It isn't always enough to be forgiven by others. Sometimes I must learn to forgive myself.

No matter how bad my heart is broken the world doesn't stop for my grief.

My family won't always be there for me. It may seem funny, but people I am not related to can take care of, love, and teach me to trust people again. Families aren't biological.

We don't have to change friends if we understand that friends change.

Just because two people argue, it doesn't mean they don't love each other. And just because they don't argue, it doesn't mean they love each other.

Even when I think I have no more to give, when a friend cries out to me, I will find the strength to help.

The people I care about most in life are taken from me too soon.

It's hard to determine where to draw the line between being nice and not hurting people's feelings and standing up for what I believe.

Sometimes the people I expect to kick me when I'm down will be the ones to help me get back up.

On Parenting:

No matter how I try to protect my children, they will eventually get hurt and I will hurt in the process.

I should never tell a child their dreams are unlikely or outlandish. Few things are more humiliating, and what a tragedy it would be if they believed it.

Lifes Surprises:

My life can be changed in a matter of hours by people who don't even know me.

I shouldn't be so eager to find out a secret. It could change my life forever.

Two people can look at the exact same thing and see something totally different.

I can keep going long after I can't.

On Character Development:

Either I control my attitude or it controls me.

Sometimes when I am angry I have the right to be angry, but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.

Heroes are the people who do what has to be done when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.

Money is a lousy way of keeping score.

Maturity has more to do with what types of experiences I've had and what I've learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays I've celebrated.

My background and circumstances may have influenced who I am, but I am responsible for who I become.

Credentials on the wall do not make me a decent human being.

I should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time I see them.

I can do something in an instant that will give me heartache for life.

I am responsible for what I do, no matter how I feel.

It can take a long time to become the person I want to be.
