Charles Pearsall Charles Pearsall, 81, a resident of Locke, died Friday night, Sep. 4, 1953, in the Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City where he had been a patient three months.Mr. Pearsall, who was born in Semporonius, had lived in Locke 20 years. Until ill health prevented he was employed at Lynch's Hardware. Before coming to Locke he was employed for many years by the Endicott-Johnson Company and previous to that was connected with a Wellsboro hardware company.
He was an active member of the Locke Methodist Church, always faithful to any duties he might perform. His cheerful manner, sincerity and kindness to all won him many friends.
Surviving are a sister, Miss S. Agnes Pearsall, with whom he had lived since the death of his wife, which occurred eight months ago; a niece, Miss Ruth Pearsall; and a nephew, Robert Pearsall, of Binghamton.
Funeral services were held at 1 o'clock Monday at the Pearsall home in Locke. The Rev. Paul Kirkpatrick of the Fleming Methodist Church and Rev. Orlo Stewart of Locke, both former pastors of the Locke Methodist Church officiated.
Besides the immediate family, those attending from out of town were Rev. and Mrs. Reeves Havens of Ashley Pa.: Mrs. Myrtle Bradley and son, Burton, and Mr. and Mrs. VanScoy and two sons of Johnson City; Mrs. Ethel Griffiths and son, Howard, of Binghamton; and Mrs. Florence Roberts of Dresserville.
Bearers were Robert Pearsall, Jefferson Hewitt, Francis Benedict, George Adams, Howard Baker and Ray Hargett. Burial was in the Bird Cemetery, Locke. ----------------------------
Charles Pearsall, 80, of Locke, former Johnson City resident died at 8:42 p.m. Friday at Wilson Memorial Hospital. He is survived by one sister, Miss Agnes Pearsall of Locke and several nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Sarah Jane Johnson Memorial Methodist Church, Johnson City, and a retired tinsmith for the Endicott Johnson Corp. The body was moved to the Ivan B. Barber & Sons Funeral Home, 428 Main Street, Johnson City, and was taken Saturday afternoon to the Wade Funeral Home, Moravia
