Formal Paper Standards
1. Type in black on white or recycled paper.

2. Use a normal font-- no curly, no script; nothing interesting.

3. Use 12 point only.

4. Double space and use 1 inch (or computer preset) margins. Bring a sample if you're unsure.

5. No title pages. Save a branch!

6. Headings:              first page in top right corner:         Last Name, First name 
                                                                                         English ____ Period ___
                                                                                          Date

                               second (and all other) page:           Last name, number

7. Begin the first page 1/3 down the page. Start with an underlined or bold title.

8. Use bold or italics for emphasis, but choose one only.

9. Cite sources with parenthetical documentation where necessary, and include a bibliography page.

10. White-out mistakes or strike out with one horizontal line.
