Pattern Information for He Lives - Revised 4/4/04 Finished Size: 42w x 42h 14 ct 3" x ?3" 18ct 2.5" x 2.5" Suggested Fabric: Aida or Fiddlers Cloth Lite Evenweave Threads: Full cross - 2 threads Backstitch "Christ is Risen" - 2 threads Background - 1 thread of lighter color Flowers - 1 thread of darker color QUICK AND SIMPLE 2-color only one-evening chart. SUGGESTED USES: Finish as small slightly stuffed ornament to attach to a Basket or the door of your church classroom. If the first set of colors appear too light on your fabric, then choose the second, darker shades of the DMC mocha brown family. Click here to see a photo of finished design on Fiddler's Lite. BLACKWORK VARIATIONS: This adds only a bit more time to the project and creates a very nice background effect. You'll find charts for 2 different alternatives: 1 using a 2-stitch wide cross pattern (shown above on Fiddler's) abd a 3-wide cross pattern (shown on white). Although blackwork is traditionally done using a running stitch, back stitching works just fine when the reverse will not bee visible. Suggestion: Work the full cross stitches first and the "He is Risen." Complete the background pattern, then backstitch in the flowers.
