The Home Front
In 2001, we moved out of Toronto, to the Lake Simcoe area.  It's the best of both worlds, quiet 'country' evenings and weekends, with the city conveniently close.

Renovating is always an adventure-you always find more to fix than you initially anticipated.  Below are a few before and after pictures highlighting some of  the fun we've had in '01-'04.  I'm too busy to load 'before' photos-just trust me, it was bad.
The pond was barely a hole in the ground with a liner thrown down.
Nothing a couple of day's re-construction and planting couldn't fix (Spring '03).  A dilapidated garage teardown and installation of 2 sheds at either corner of the yard were projects for '04 and '05.
The kichen was old pine cupboards, few in number, so I traded an irrigation installation for a new kitchen.
The dining room is about the only area we didn't do much with...
The fireplace greets you as you enter.  The gas insert, spiral stairs to the loft, and carpet were done by us.
