'Tell Her She's Pretty' by Michael K. Cole

This Picture is inspired by a real life event. During an evening with a glorious sunset, I saw a woman who looked very sad staring intently into a pool of water. I normally don't pry into other's affairs, but I went up to her anyway and asked her what was wrong. She asked me a single question, 'Am I pretty?' She was, and I told her that she was very pretty, as the sunset of that evening was. She sprung up, hugged and kissed me as her sadness gave way to a brightly shining smile. She then exuberantly ran off. I never got her name, and I never saw her again! I think all women ask that question at one time or another, and men do, too; just the words are different. This young fairy is asking the same question, staring at a reflection only she can see. So, if you see a sad woman, tell her that she is pretty, and her beauty will surely grace the world!

Dec 4 1999 Elfwood artist: Emily Arnould, (Click here to visit!)This is amazing! I just love those wings and that sad expression on her face. The subject matter is wonderfully sad, too.
Dec 7 1999 Elfwood artist: Amanda Canfield Yanyo, (Click here to visit!)Technically wonderful, but more importantly; emotionally exquisite. This is my favorite so far...
Dec 14 1999 GelaneI really like this one. Not only is it beautiful and expressive, but I really think this one is one of the ones with the best proportions of all your pictures. This one looks especially real. The wings and the sunset/sunrise make a nice contrast and add to the beauty of the picture. :) You also did a good job on the eyes in this one. Sometimes they stand out too much or not enough, but this picture has them just right.
Dec 21 1999 HarlequinBEAUTIFUL!
Dec 22 1999 Mary PaytonHey Mike, I've always loved this one...and can't stop looking at her. The mood, lighting, and sheer pathos of it all is perfect (as are the proportions). Simply exquisite!
