UMPIRE SIGNS
Here are some basic signs that every umpire should know and use during a game. These signs are easy to learn and use so learn them and share them with your partner.
How Many Outs? there are 2 different signs for this. The first is a cutting motion made across the throat. or the second is tapping the right pant leg with a closed fist.
Respond by: one, the number of outs are held up with your fingers on your right pant leg. two, touch the brim of your hat with the number of finger as there are outs.
What's the count tap the top of your head or the brim of your hat. or you can place the palms of both hands horizontally on your chest.
Respond by: holding the number of balls in the left hand and the number of strikes in your right hand.
Possible infield fly situation Simply just point your thumb upward or tap your left shoulder.
Watch out for a time play The plate umpire simply taps the back of his wrist where you wear a watch.
I NEED HELP When a manager leaves the dugout toward the umpire the other umpires will move toward the ump. If the umpire being addressed places 2 hands on his waist, then a umpire should step between the two.
