Has worked the past four seasons in the International League (AAA) prior to becoming a member of the major league staff in 2001. He had been assigned to work major league spring training the past three seasons and was called up to work his first major league game on September 3, 1999 at Montreal. The 33-year-old Timmons had previously umpired in the Arizona Fall League (1998-2000), Southern League (1995-96), Carolina League (1993-94), South Atlantic League (1992-93), Florida Instructional League (1991) and New York-Penn League (1991). A native of Columbus, Ohio, Timmons and his wife, Leslie, reside in New Albany, Ohio with their three children.
