Llewellin
Setters have been in my family for three generations. My grandfather,
Jack Harrington, maintained a full kennel of Llewellins in the
1950's and passed them on to my father in the 60's. My father
maintained the bloodline until the 90's - when, regrettably,
because of decreasing bird populations in southern Louisiana
and the ever increasing rarity of the Llewellin breed, our kennel
succumbed to old age and we lost our original line.
There
began our search for a reputable breeder who valued the same
characteristics of the Llewellin that had captured the hearts
of the Harrington family for over fifty years. Some of these
unique characteristics being - loyalty, obedience, intelligence
and superb performance in the field. We finally found such a
breeder in, Alfred King Sr., President of the Llewellin Setter
Association, and purchased a male and female pup from his Bomber
and Bondhu lines, respectively. Both dogs have shown exceptional
instincts in the field and have also served as wonderful companions
in our home.
It
is from these two dogs that we are currently offering pups.
