| The East Channel Light by Rochelle Schuster Near the town of Munising out across the bay Stands a little wooden lighthouse in a state of disarray. Superior tried to take her down And all the people in the town Felt the love and saw the light, Like they saw it yesterday shining out across the bay. Stripped of her commission now, also of her light, No longer is she needed on a foggy stormy night. With sand eroding from the shore, The people of the town once more Felt the love and saw the light, And saved a part of history for themselves and you and me. Then the call for help went out; time to make a plan. We need a lot of people; bring as many as you can. And armed with all the skills they knew, They set out with a mighty crew To save the light, to save the day, To keep that light from going down, for all the people in the town. We dont need a beacon now to guide us on our way To that little wooden lighthouse proudly standing in the bay. The light that shines within our heart Is but the very smallest part Of all the love and all the light, That was felt throughout the town when the people rallied round. Feel the love and see the light, Like we saw it yesterday shining out across the bay. Feel the love and see the light Like we saw it once before fate came knocking at her door. Feel the love and see the light, In the people of the town who kept that light from going down. Feel the love and see the light. Pray that lighthouse on the shore will be there forever more. Rochelle Schuster 2004 Please do not use without permission. |
