Bethan has been praying for "a baby in Mommy's belly" since February 2004.  Thomas is the answer to her prayers.  She's a bit disappointed that we didn't name him Scooby Doo, or that we didn't have a girl named Sunshine...but we think she's fairly happy with her baby brother who is "a lot smaller" than she thought he'd be.
Thomas was born 6 weeks before his due date as a result of Laura's gestational hypertension and pre-eclampsia.  Thomas was in the NICU for 16 days before he was able to come home (he's been healthy, just small).  Laura spent one week in the hospital and then returned for a second week when her blood pressure did not go down after delivery.  Jeffery, Bethan, Jake, and Morgan stayed at Grandma and Grandpa's house for three weeks and Ron rotated between home, Fairport, and hospital for the three weeks.  We are all very happy to be back home.  Thomas needs to keep quarantined until he gets bigger and Laura's sticking close to home except for medical appointments.  We are anxious for Thomas to meet our family and friends, but we want to make sure he's ready so we can avoid any future stays at the hospital.
