The computerized decade that introduced the term �Internet� into the pop culture psyche, took mass media to the dot.com age, and made web surfing and chat rooms a part of daily life. �Tickle Me Elmo� and �Barney� made toddlers squeal. Teenagers and young adults were dubbed �Generation X,� and had their lives chronicled by the films �Singles� and �Reality Bites,� while everyone escaped into the more violent themes of cinema like �Pulp Fiction,� �Natural Born Killers,� and �Scream.� Grunge Rock and Gangsta Rap dominated the music scene, while MTV�s �The Real World� set the stage for what would later be tagged �Reality-TV.� Elsewhere on the small screen, the fights on Jerry Springer and �the Jenny Jones Show murder� caused daytime talk to come under fire. Prime-time dramas like 90210, Melrose Place, and Party Of Five took over where Dynasty and Dallas left off�while sitcoms like Seinfeld and Friends made Thursday nights �Must See TV.� On the national front, the Waco bombing and Columbine massacre traumatized the nation, the mysterious murders of Tupac Shakur and JonBenet Ramsey shocked, while the OJ Simpson murder trial kept everyone riveted. | ||||||||||
| In Llanview; rapist Todd Manning took up with the town tramp Blair Cramer, and started what would become the ultimate dysfunctional dynasty. Where Michael Grande left off, Carlo Hesser began. Kelly Cramer proved to be disastrous behind the wheel. Will Rappaport and Roseanne Delgado teamed up to work against Cristian Vega and Jessica Buchanan�s relationship. Now without Cord to save her from herself, Tina got hoodwinked by both Cain Rogan and David Vickers. The town mourned the losses of both Gordon sisters: Megan and Sarah. After spending the last decade jumping from vocation to vocation, Bo finally found his niche as Llanview�s police commissioner. Clint and Viki Buchanan�s tumultuous marriage hit its breaking point with the arrival of General Sloan Carpenter, whose son Reverend Andrew Carpenter found himself the center of a child molestation scandal. The vengeful Lindsay Rappaport made herself Dorian to Nora�s Viki. Speaking of Dorian, after nearly twenty years of rumors and innuendo about her involvement in the death of her first husband Victor Lord, she finally stood trial for his murder. In between gambling addictions, plastic surgery, and two separate stints as a �Buchanan,� Max Holden lost the love of his life to gun violence in the Angel Square. And Kevin Buchanan saw more face changes than the days of the week.
