Odyssey House helped Cathy Craig with her drug addiction.

Jim, seeing how Cathy�s problem was beyond his help, sent his daughter to Odyssey House Rehabilitation Center in New York City that summer. During her therapy sessions, Cathy finally remembered killing Artie and exonerated Vince. Devastated over the loss of her beloved Joe, Viki made the heart wrenching decision to have him declared legally dead�much to the chagrin of Vince and Eileen Siegel, Joe�s sister, who continued to hold hope that he may be alive.

As newlyweds Larry and Meredith Wolek were enjoying married life for a time. Merrie, shortly thereafter, decided that she wanted to start a family�despite her doctors strongly advising against it, considering her physical condition. Larry was apprehensive, not wanting to chance his wife�s health. With Merrie remaining adamant, Larry very reluctantly gave in. Soon twins were on the way.

Eileen and Dave Siegel were dismayed when their daughter Julie moved in with her older boyfriend, former football hero Jack Lawson. When Julie later learned that he was wasn't faithful, she suffered a nervous breakdown.
