4-H Knowledge

1.  Review the 4-H Record Book with your leader and parent.   
2.  Identify three goals for your 4-H Llama Project and write them in your Record Book.
3.  Repeat & explain the 4-H slogan.     

Safety

4.  Demonstrate how to safely pick up and inspect the front feet of your llama. 
5.  Explain and demonstrate how to safely hold the leadrope.   

Selecting & Judging

6.  Define:  gelding, intact male, desensitization, conformation, wool, guard hair,
ruminant, camelid.       
7.  Define Public Relations and describe the characteristics of a good PR llama. 

Handling

8.  Lead your llama over a log or jump at least 18� high on a loose lead. 
9.  Back your llama 4 steps straight on a loose lead.    
10.  Lead your llama over a bridge (either real or obstacle type) on a loose lead. 

History

11.  Name the 4 species of  South American camelids.   
12.  Name 3 countries of South America where llamas originate.

13.  What is the average weight range of an adult llama?
