| Taylor scribbled haphazardly into a small tattered notebook. The corners of its hard cover were bent and riped and the pages were filled with everything that had ever meant anything to Taylor. His word spewed from his brain to his hand in a constant flow of ideas. When his thoughts, and writing, turned to the subject of Scott, they slowed down as thoughts and memories of his past lover flooded his mind. He had never been happier when he was with Scott, and without him it was hard to get by faking smiles and laughter. Taylor dropped his pen and rubbed his eyes. The clock glowed 2:07 AM. He had enough writing tonight. As he tried to close his eyes and fall asleep, the thoughts of Scott arose again. Tears filled his eyes as images of his death tormented him. Less than a year before this night, Scott was killed by the person that had been taking pictures of them at the hotel so many years before. They were never caught, but Taylor was sure it was the same person. After the tragedy, Taylor thought best to lay low. Now that Scott was gone, and the rest of his family still knew nothing about them, it was harder to talk to anyone. He had been distant then, but now it was getting worse. Taylor's eyes shot open as his alarm went off sounding like a small fog horn going off next to his ear. He rubbed his eyes to feel dried tears around his eyes and down his cheek. He was crying in his sleep again. "Zac?" His voice rang over the phone weak and pained. "Taylor? Are you okay?" |
