From The East:

Our Lodge Temple, Our House!
We are fortunate to have such a great home for Masonic Family activities (DeMolay, Rainbow Girls, Eastern Star and Lodge). These ongoing activities require a lot of upkeep and maintenance on a regular basis. We have come to take these efforts for granted.
Our Temple Corporation is responsible for the very hard job of maintaining the building. The folks serving on the Temple Corp. Board give many hours of their time to support the building. The specific maintenance and upkeep activities have in recent years been carried for the most part by Kent Overholser, Al Jording, Jack Peterson, Paul Lepold, Jeff Fomby and the late Gerald Mole, PM, with the assistance of a few others.
I believe we must prepare for the inevitable Retirement of these hard working people. They have worked so hard and long to keep our house in order. We owe them so much. I think even "King Solomon" would have been pleased to have such a great staff of dedicated Master Masons maintaining his Temple!
It is time to begin facilitating a smooth transition to a new "Keepers of the Temple". I suggest we seek the establishment of a Working Team that can be supervised by our current building experts. Very few people are experts in all the various tasks, but if we could get a fair number of people with diversed knowledge we can cover all the bases. By starting now we can build a great team and get them ready to eventually take charge.

This idea will also assure no one person is overburdened with building activities. Even if you can only come in and vacuum the Lodge Hall, it would be welcomed contribution!

Brethren, I would like each of you to think about pitching in. Please contact Josh Ragland, Kent Overholser or myself if you wish to help.
Your support in this program is essential in assuring "Our Temple, Our House", is ready and fit to meet our needs.
Fraternally,
Don Bristol, WM

Upcoming Competition Practices
Libertyville Lodge # 492 is planning on participating in the Annual Ritual competition again this year.

NOTICE TO ALL OFFICERS!
There will be a standing practice session held every Wednesday at the Lodge, with the exception of March 7th. Coordinating the practices is Brother Josh Ragland. The "Ritual" for this year's competition is "Opening 1,2,3 and Receiving the District Deputy". We are looking to improve on last year's effort. If any of our seasoned member "Ritual Experts" wants to stop in and COACH us, you are most welcome!

Fraternally,
Don Bristol, WM
