Lambda Kappa Sigma - Dedicated to the Future
Lambda Kappa Sigma (LKS) is an international, professional pharmacy fraternity open to undergraduate and graduate pharmacy students and practicing pharmacists. Since its establishment in 1913, LKS has grown to more than 18,000 members, with 44 campus chapters and 36 alumni groups chartered internationally.
The Fraternity's mission is to promote the profession of pharmacy among women and advance women within the profession by developing its members as individuals and leaders through the support of fellow members while encouraging a high standard of professional ethics and scholarship.
Through active participation in campus activities and fraternity programs, LKS members cultivate valuable leadership skills and a first-hand understanding of group dynamics. Members call upon these skills regularly throughout their lives, and find they have a unique ability to serve their families, communities, and the pharmacy profession.
LKS educational programs enhance professional development in the field of pharmacy, with an emphasis placed on women's health issues. Continuing education credits are readily available. Members gain the understanding necessary to serve patients knowledgeably and with confidence.
The support, encouragement, and camaraderie shared among members fosters personal growth and challenges each to be the best human being, pharmacist, and sister they can be. Annual awards recognize excellence in academics, community service, leadership and professional achievement. Educational assistance is also available through the LKS Educational Grant Program.
LKS members are the future of the pharmacy profession. Therefore, the Fraternity is dedicated to developing the intellectual, leadership, and professional skills needed to maximize their potential and strive for their personal best.
