She's slow! She's clumsy! She's ALLEGRA!
And no, I'm not talking about the medication. That stuff works pretty fast, you know.
*ahem*

Born on an island chateau in Terretria, Allegra was either dropped on her head one-too-many times as a baby, or she was just born stupid. Regardless of the cause, she's got no chance of being a fantabulous mage of whatever, as Allegra isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer - but tries her best to make up for it by being saccharine enough to rot your teeth right out of your head.

As a child, her inability to connect empathically with others led to her never bothering to restrain her rather nasty temper; on top of that, she never shared her toys, whined like an unoiled hinge, and had some minor to major communication problems. Namely, she wasn't good at it. Add spotty memory problems and a tendency to display an alarming lack of foresight characterized by impulsive and idiotic behavior, and you get one difficult hell-brat. Which she was.

By the time she was 10, her parents, after failing to console yet another distraught and hurridly resigning nanny, took drastic measures and sent her away to a convent of Kishtei in Jezzaria, hoping that she would learn to be a bit less selfish and a lot more understanding. Sadly, even after a few years of scrubbing pots, aiding the poverty-stricken, and generally being forced to be helpful to others (and it wasn't like she was working at a leper hospital. I mean, those Kishtei people are so laxlaxlax. They have the whole "Joy to the WORLD!" and "Let's MAKE SOMETHING INSPIRATIONAL!" thing down pat), Allegra didn't seem inclined to change her outlook anytime soon - until the war broke out.

At first, she panicked at the sudden loss of communication with her family, and tried to hurry home, as far away from the war as possible. The members of the convent were, at this time, busy trying to help alleviate suffering in the frontlines, but were willing to let her go home, as she was still in her early teens at this time. Allegra, being still a selfish twit, agreed with them and went willingly with her assigned convoy towards the border. Unfortunately, they were caught in a cross fire, and well, the convoy, minus Allegra and another young passenger, were reduced to mincemeat. After that incident, the two youths were left to find their way across the border alone.

As they tried to go home, Allegra saw many things, some that unnerved her and others that made her glad to be a human being, yet at the same time made her suddenly realize and regret how petty and narrow-minded she had been. Eventually, she began to see the precepts of Kishtei to be a great thing, something that was worthwhile (yes,
even scrubbing the pans. You need clean pans to eat, you know). As they travelled further, her companion, a mere child, took ill. Now, Allegra was torn between her desire to arrive safely at her destination and helping this child she barely knew - but she was saved from that decision as she met an old couple, not at all well-to-do, who were willing to take the child in and care for him. Allegra was moved by the gesture, but still unable to part completely from her old persona of the well-to-do, spoiled, angsty teenager. This changed, however, when she started to cross the battle-zones near the border. She saw soldiers, both dead and alive, lying side by side, abandoned and left for dead by the advancing troops. Impulsively, she began to act out her training from the convent of Kishtei...the experience, though harrowing, was rewarding as well, and Allegra's purpose for her journey began to change. As she finally crossed the border, she was no longer thinking of waiting out the war in her parent's comfortable island chataeu - she was thinking of spreading joy in a time of strife, as prescribed by Kishtei, to those suffering in her own country - and also, to make amends to Kishtei herself for having been such a hell-brat.

When she arrived in Terretria, Allegra sent a missives home with the news that she was alive and well at a major Temple of Kishtei, and wished to work there helping those at the frontlines. Recently, Allegra has got it into her head to be ordained a paladin of the order unfortunately, she loses all control of herself when she is aggrivated to a certain degree, and has a tendency to go into a berserk temper tantrum at those times.
