Generations Gardeners "...The Rebel Yankee chapter..." Photos from the Swap 2003 Plant Swap & Seed Exchange SWAP, TRADE, BOAST & BRAG! ~ Cedar Rapids IA 52402 ~ Contact info - Get in on the fun NEXT YEAR! Our first swap in Iowa on 9-20-03 was a success! About 100 people came by to visit and swap seeds, bulbs, plants for both the garden and for house plants. Extreme amounts of knowledge, books, stories and fellowship were exchanged .... and this is just the start! Inspired by the MSN group based in Central Arkansas, We are the first chapter forming north of the Mason-Dixon line, hence making this chapter "the rebel yankees"!
Trish & Kyle << A real smile for the camera! These two are both great friends of mine. Thank you for your help. Over Kyles shoulder is a board we did for info on the passion flower and all the variations. It included the "Legend of the Passion Flower"
Greg & Rita Hamming it up for the lens! >> Rita knows most any type of house plants while Greg holds the unofficial expertise on medicinal and herbals. Geoff sneaked out before I broke out the camera! He is an authority on prairie restoration.
Below is even more of what we are ALL about - Passing it down to the next generation!
Mel and her boys! Aren't they a fine looking group? I want to personally thank Mel for all the hard work she did. I am glad she is my friend! Also a great thanks to the kids (J & Bub) for their patience given to us while doing preperation work & the swap!
Here is just one of the many examples (above) of the new friendships being made at the swap and teaching those that want to learn more. Julie (center) passes on info to Michelle (left), while Lois (back) checks out the mint and other plants offered as well as seeds and magazines.
And now something that RARELY happens, I will show you my ugly mug!! Be sure to click on the BUBBA BUG to the left! Thanks for stopping by! Larry
