• Replaced 2000-user infrastructure in under 12 months, which catalyzed dramatically increased communications enterprise-wide, lower cost of maintenance, increased speed of software/systems release, increased data integrity, more efficient customer service, and enabled many (now critical) systems add-ons (such as fax server and real-time Web reporting), and introduced scalability
• Served as Business Protection Coordinator representing enterprise in business protection and business continuity plans, annual updates, and year-2000 remediation.

• Built and managed team of engineers focused on Terminal Services engineering, including Citrix MetaFrame 1.8 and XP, Microsoft Terminal Services 4.0, 2000, and XP. Engineered dozens of applications for large user bases and easing the burden of numerous help desks, serving 120,000 users at 7000 locations
• Managed team of engineers and technicians, systems included perimeter and internal security systems, WAN (de-militarized, extranet, and unprotected zones, frame relay, PPP), LANs (100 sites, core Ethernet switch, TokenRing), servers (NT, MetaFrame, Solaris, NetWare, OS/2), application services (email, SQL, intranet-based applications), gateways (SNA, SAA, SMTP), remote access (RAS, MetaFrame dial-in, VPN), all address spaces (IP, IPX), storage area network (fibre-channel, SCSI, EMC, McData, Emulex), controlled environment facilities, power / backup power management systems, user support teams
• Developed and implemented change control release process, now enterprise standard
• Managed internal/external technical support and internal product development project teams, including all network-related projects, using change control release process
• Designed and implemented $2.2 million/year self-healing WAN, connecting 100 remote sites for centralized vertical applications, email, desktop (thin-client) publishing, and Internet/extranet access
• Designed and implemented enterprise-wide class B IP address space, integrating Internet and extranet spaces
• Created a centralized (thin-client) environment for branch users, saving $2 million/year in circuit charges using NT Terminal Server and Citrix MetaFrame (farm of 22 servers serving 2000 users)
• Developed Internet and intranet systems using TCP/IP routing (FrameRelay, PPP, T1, dial-up), name services (DNS, WINS), HTTP, Security (SSL), email (SMTP, POP3), FTP, interactive Web sites (IDC, SQL Server, ISAPI, CGI), RAS, VPN, and MetaFrame dial-up
• Created and managed GroupWise (4.1, 5.5), Lotus Domino/Notes (2.x, 3.x, 4.x), Exchange Server, Microsoft Internet Information Server (including Index Server, ActiveX, VBScript, JavaScript, SSL, ISAPI, IDC), SQL Server 6, Netscape Servers (including JavaScript, SSL, Verity TopicSearch)
• Deep understanding of Wide Area Network design, including firm knowledge of Cisco 1600 and 7200 series routers, 3Com routers, T1, DS3, Frame Relay, VPN, firewall-level security, and POTS-based access
• Protocol-layer experience includes deep understanding of TCP/IP (DHCP, DNS, WINS, FrameRelay, PPP, HTTP, SSL), IPX/SPX, and also NetBEUI, NetBIOS, and AppleTalk
• Network-layer experience includes foundation of Ethernet (including 10/100, gigabit, shared/switched), ArcNet, TokenRing, and AppleTalk
• Developed and maintained relationships with hardware, service, and software vendors
• Twenty years experience in the computer industry
