Final
Presentation: Expression of Protest
A creative project asking you to examine the state of your world and your solutions to its plights
Throughout the year you have examined different modes of expression. Through his text, McBride describes the struggles he experiences as child during 1960’s. In essence, his memoir is a perfect example of subversion for his ability to raise questions about the state of segregation, racial prejudice, poverty, education, family, etc, existent in the United States.
For your final project, you will be asked to examine an issue that is occurring in America today and through a mode of expression; express your thoughts, concerns, and solutions to this issue. For example, you may want to consider the plight of the homelessness in American and specifically in San Diego. For this issue you may want to research the numbers and types of people who are homeless, and present a presentation in which you express your insight in this area, your concerns about the financial and social obligations and your solutions to delineating homelessness in San Diego and America. The mode in which you present is up to you. You may want to write and present a play, create poems, create a documentary or another mode in which you feel is an acceptable form of presentation. Additionally, to aide you in your creative discovery, you will be allowed to work in groups of no more than three people.
