| This is Mrs. Yi, our Ajuma (AH-joo-mah). She comes once a week to clean the house, wash our clothes, and usually she also cooks us lunch! We're totally spoiled! | |||||||||||||||
| Here's Alyssa, ready to help Allie deliver the Stars and Stripes (the military overseas newspaper) to our housing area - Blackhawk Village. Sometimes they deliver them on rollerblades, too. Because Allie is moving back to the States in May, we will be taking over the newspaper route. | |||||||||||||||
| Here are many of the kids from the beginner and intermediate gymnastics classes. Her teacher is Mr. Pak (PAHK) - he is the older gentleman on the far right. Mr. Pak is a former Olympic gymnastics trainer, which is sometimes good and sometimes bad. He expects a lot from the kids, but they do improve quickly. The young Korean man next to Mr. Pak is an Olympic gold medalist in gymnastics (sorry, I don't remember what event). He came to this exhibition and the kids got a real kick out of meeting him and having him sign their certificates. Zach had just started gymnastics and didn't have a uniform, so he couldn't participate in the exhibition, which was fine with him! Allie is just above Alyssa and is suffering from photographic red eye. | |||||||||||||||
| Happy Birthday, Alyssa!!! To celebrate Alyssa's birthday, as requested, we made Kitty Litter Cake, complete with Tootsie Roll kitty poops and vanilla pudding pee clumps. Pretty cool! It tasted delicious, but it was actually a little *too* realistic and most of us didn't have the stomach to eat more than a few bites. John, however, chowed down - LOL! P.S. In case you were wondering, yes, the kitty litter scooper is brand new and had never been used for the real thing. | |||||||||||||||
