| May i just say before I start, Roxy Music/Bryan Ferry are legends in the music industry, and if you haven't heard of them, why are you on my site? Anyway, Stranded storms in with 'Street Life' with its cool guitar riff and regular beat its a classic 70's track, the lyrics are also good, basically giving you advice, example: "...Education is an important key yes, but the good lifes never won by degrees no, pointless passing through Harvard or Yale...." you get the idea. Another track that sticks out is 'Amazona' with its funky guitar riff, which appears on t.v at the moment on the 'Blossom Hill Wine' advert, keep a look out for it. 'Serenade' more upbeat than the title suggests, has plenty of piano playing from Ferry and the usual excellent guitar playing from Phil Manzanera. 'Mother of Pearl' starts well, but then slows down , its good, i'd just have prefered it if it didn't slow down. Overall this album is a classic, though some modern pallettes might not like it, which means i'll have to give this 3 out of 5. My advice, go to Virgin Megastore, HMV, wherever, and ask the drongo on the counter to play the 'Stranded' album by Roxy Music, and judge for yourself. |
