Overload!!!
It's so easy (especially in college around midterms) to feel totally overwhelmed by everything going on around us.  It seems like there's always something we should be doing--some meeting or activity or studying or volunteer work--it's always something.  I had never really thought about busyness too much...I just sort of thought, "Hey, stress is part of life."  Then one night while I was maniacally studying for a biology quiz I was listening to this song called "Overload".  One of the lines is "Won't you help me carry this overload?"  That hit me really hard because I realized that Jesus wants to help us carry our burdens.  No!  He wants to carry our burdens for us!  In Matthew 11:28-30 Jesus says, "Come to me, all you that are weary and carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

Of course our burdens are heavy--they're a result of living in a sinful world.  However, Jesus' burden is light because He is perfect.  Jesus invites us to take His burden.  There's no reason to feel overwhelmed if we truly trust that God is in control of our lives.  Jesus wants to carry our heavy burden for us; all we have to do is let him.

Prayer focus: those that are afraid to let God be in control of their lives
