School experience includes holding position of editor-in-chief of high school newspaper and taking classes at NCSU in Copy-editing, Journalism, Non-fiction Writing, Technical Editing, and Document Design as well as taking on duties of webmaster for several organizations. Have also provided documentation and written a manual for a usability lab and performed usability testing in the Usability Research Lab at NCSU. Have experience designing and running Web sites.
Have worked with Windows 95/98/NT/2000, UNIX, Quickbooks, Microsoft Works, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Pagemaker, Ultra-Edit, Lotus Notes, Lotus SmartSuite, VM, OCS Tools, and XML Spy.
Currently working as a production editor for the Unicode and Security special topics, and the Web services zone on the editorial team at IBM developerWorks. Use HTML, XML, and JavaScript; create PDF's, Zip files, and FTP and promote content; and use Lotus Notes, VM, and Adobe Acrobat PDF creator. Played a role in creating About dW site. Help maintain site and the sitemap and maintain databases. Act as the department expert on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and take responsibility for the Events page.
