While this is not conventional art work, painting or otherwise I find this photograph to be beautiful and a true representation of Eva’s persona. This piece is a black and white photograph that has been enhanced with color making Eva and the two little girls stand out against the dark background. I believe this art to be about Eva’s work, about how she brought hope, light, color to the lives of so many during the reign of her husband as president. This piece illustrates her power to turn the dark into light and spread kindness and caring wherever she went, whoever she encountered. I chose this piece because of the image but more because of the way the artist altered it with the color highlighting. I feel that the color is a brilliant way of manipulating a photo to convey an emotion or idea, and the fact that she is with two small children just emphasizes all the work she did during her life. If I could know anything about this piece it would be who took the photograph? When was the photo taken and where? And what methods/tools did the artist use to highlight the photo?
