From an incredibly early age I became interested in prehistory, especially early man and dinosaurs. Dinosaurs were my first love and will always fascinate me! In particular I love the very impressive ones, like Diplodocus, Tyrannosaurus Rex, Stegosaurus, Brachiosaurus and the Raptors. However, one film that drives me up the wall is Jurassic Park. It is SO inaccurate! For example, Velociraptors were only the size of turkeys. They really should have used another Raptor species, such as Utahraptor, which were much more like the human-sized pack-hunting predators portrayed in the film. By the way, I haven't seem JP II or III so won't comment on those.
Still, the BBC's 'Walking with Dinosaurs' was incredible...it really brought them to life! A few guesses were made for the benefit of the programme, but that I think was necessary.
The last part of the last show of Walking with Dinosaurs - when the meteorite struck - was very strange and moving to watch for me. For some reason, the extinction of the dinosaurs has always moved me, probably because they ruled the earth for 120 million years, then were totally wiped out. We humans think we'll be around forever, we think we rule the planet, but we've only been around for about 1 million years. I'm not being pessimistic, just thought-provoking.
