| A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN AMERICAN HUMMINGBIRD |

| Oh, hummingbird, hummingbird, where did you come from? Such a long and dangerous journey you make twice a year Your moms don't show you which way to go But God put inside you the instinct to know Every time I see you my heart leaps with joy You look so delicate like a tiny little toy Your emerald green back sparkles in the sun What bird can compare to you ... There is none We who love you wait every spring To hear the sweet sound of your fast beating wings When fall approaches we dread that you must go We want you to stay 'cause we love you so I know you have to go .. it's part of God's plan And something we humans just don't understand If only there could be a way to make you see Just how very much you mean to me Oh, hummingbird, hummingbird, Where are you going? Have a safe journey and we'll see you next Spring. |
