MY HUMMERS
By:  Misty Loges (NJ)
I have two main feeders.  One hangs just outside the kitchen window on the east side of the house and the other just outside the french door on the west side of the house. Both are visible from the two main rooms of my house due to the large glass windows and doors. The east feeder was the first to recieve my jewels. A male  Ruby shortly followed by a female. My top count has been 8 on the east and just a week ago, 13 on the west. There is also a trumpet vine on the west
which they love also. I don't like to get to close to it as it's covered with bees and wasps for some reason.
While hanging wash, gardening or just lazing around, I always hear the fast chirp-chip they make while chasing each other around. Actually thought I was going to get a new pierced ear one day as he came so close!
While turning on the outside hose, located under the kitchen feeded the hummingbird of happiness left a little something in my hair!  I am truly blessed to have so many visit me here.
Vickie lives not to far from me and doesn't have half as many. She was here one day sitting at the kitchen table and she could see the kitchen feeder while my seat afforded a view of the front
door feeder. She darn near broke her neck trying to watch 5-6 hummers feeding and fussing. It was truly a happy day for her.
Now it is almost September and my prettys will soon be leaving so y'all that live south of me get ready and take good care of them for me till next May!!
