The Lizton-Union Township Voulnteer Fire Department provides fire service and rescue to the town, Union Township, and about two-thirds of Harrison Township in Boone County.
The department consists of about twenty volunteers. A telephone override system places a fire phone at each members house. A radio alerting system ia also provided to each member.Radio communications are maintained between vehichle, the station and other departments.
The fire department is located at the corner of US 136 and SR 39.
