When I Found You

I was broken and torn,
Used and abused,
Repressed and sorrowful,
Lost and lonely
When I found you.

I was hesitant and cautious,
Curious but wary,
Tired but excited,
Despaired but hoping
When I found you.

I was tearful and confused,
Exhausted and craving,
Risking but holding back,
Unsure but certain
When I found you.

You embraced me, loved me,
Accepted and forgave me,
Listened and cared,
Gave without conditions
When you found me.

You showed me, inspired me,
Taught me and respected me,
Sought to help but allowed me to breathe,
Gave me space with support
When you found me.

You proved your worth, gained credibility
Made me believe you were genuine,
Eased my fears, wiped my tears,
Response in love, I returned,
We founded a strong bond.

So, in prayer I bless you,
Ask God to give you
Miracles and harmony,
Love without complications,
Like you gave me.

Be there, in all you do,
Bless attempts in reaching out,
Let your ministry be life giving,
Energize you to touch the needy,
Give you peace to rest in,
Like you gave me.

Bless our fellowship, be the centre,
Loving together, never losing
Sight of you, let us keep
Be uplifting to each other,
As You brought us together.

In closing, I thank you,
Both God and this church,
And pray you realise
What a blessing youve been to my life,
An answer to desperate prayer,
You were there, responded.

For your faithfulness,
I wrote this prayer,
In appreciation,
I now care.

Oh God, let us
Never lose sight of what you bonded,
No man can tear apart, let us not stray.

Together let us pray, as a gift for God
This church,
Always in your love,
Forever in your presence,
We pray to be,
As I thank my brothers and sisters in Christ.

"This poem was written as a thank you to my church who are so supportive and inspiring, caring is a big part of their mission. This church is into love, acceptance and forgiveness, in a big way! And this poem expresses that so, for them. Ive gained so much from this church, especially the friendships, will love you guys forever!"
