One of the neat things about downtown Ottawa is all the little details that get overlooked a good deal of the time. 
The picture on the upper left is what is often known as the Cathouse, just to the west, and slightly behind, Centreblock on Parliament Hill.
Above, to the left, and at the bottom right are some examples of the carvings on the parliament buildings.
Below and left is the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, recently installed at the Cenotaph (or the war memorial), in the intersection of Elgin and Wellington. 
Below right and bottom left are just 2 views of the figures on the Cenotaph.
