My Rocks

Since I'm studying geology and really love it, I figured it was only appropriate for me to show off my rocks :) Even if you aren't into geology, they're pretty, so take a look!

Most of these were sent to me by my uncle when I was about 10 or 11 years old, and he sent a letter telling me what all of them were and where they came from, but I've lost the letter, so I'm not 100% sure where all of these came from; I do believe he found all of them, however (except for the optic quartz which he bought).

A nice piece of amethyst. I bought this one somewhere, didn't find it myself.
A piece of obsidian my uncle sent me. I think he found this somewhere, but don't quite remember.
This is another piece of obsidian I believe, also given to me by my uncle.
This is a quartz that I was told is called an Optic quartz, though I'm sure that's not a technical term. It's completely clear down the middle and so beautiful! Definitely the best rock I have. My uncle gave this one to me, he told me it was found in the Amazon river.
This is another one my uncle sent me, he told me it was called a thunder egg and that if you break it open, it'll be geode-like inside, with lots of crystals. Haven't decided yet if I want to try breaking it open.
Here's a piece of quartz my uncle found along some dirt road somewhere and sent me.
This is one of many pieces of petrified wood that my uncle sent me; he collected them from somewhere out in Oregon.
