The
Creation of the Millennium Items
The
Millennium Items were actually created by Priest Akunadin, under the
order of Pharaoh Akunamukanon. 15 years ago, there was some sort of
war, perhaps against a neighbouring country or perhaps it was a
civil war (maybe it was a Lower/Upper Egypt thing... -_-). Anyway,
Akunamukanon was out of options. His army wasn't near as strong as
it needed to be to defend against another attack, and the enemy
would arrive within 7 days.
Priest Akunadin proposed that they create
items of power described in some sort of shadow-power book... These
items would give their bearers control over an army of Gods and
Demons. Pharaoh Akunamukanon, seeing no other option, reluctantly agreed. (Note: I'm
pretty sure I've mentioned somewhere before that only Mill. Holders
can summon monsters trapped in tablets)

So Akunadin left his wife and his son, Seto (yes, I said Seto.
I've got confirmation on this now!) and lead a legion of
soldiers to the village of Kuru Eruna. It
turns out that Akunadin is Akunamukanon's little brother,
which makes Yami and Seto first cousins. o_O Seto was about
5-ish at the time and Yami was still a baby, so they'd be about 18-20-ish
and 15-16-ish respectively in present AE time. Y'know what this
means? It means Seto might well be next in line for the throne if
Yami dies.

The little fact Akunadin conveniently
forgot to tell his brother was that in order to create the
items of power, he needed a dark sacrifice... Something to
satiate both God and Demon...
The entire village of Kuru Eruna was massacred
and their flesh, blood and bones were melted down with the
gold that was used to create the seven Millennium Items.
I think I speak for all of us when I
say "Eeeewww"! **shudder** Although if you
think about it, it would kinda explain why Bakura feels he has
a right to the Items. His parents might well be part of
the Items...... ok, let's deviate from that line of thought,
shall we? |
Akunadin,
upon receiving the Mill. Eye, made one heartfelt wish: that his son
could be king.
Thanks to Hnfbabyblue for the info.
