The
Blue-Eyed Girl
The
foreigner
|
During
one of his Kaa hunts, Priest Seto encounters a girl being
stoned for the bad luck of the village. A girl with blue eyes
and white skin was a definite rarity in Ancient Egypt. Disgusted by the
villagers shallow manner, he saves her and gives her water,
much to the relief of Yugi and Co, who could only watch
helplessly as the memory progressed.
Priest Shadi however, exclaims with
shock that her soul monster is a white dragon... an extremely
powerful one.
Intrigued, Seto orders his men to
take her back to the palace and care for her.
His good deed, it seems, was not
without an ulterior motive. Lusting after the power to defeat
God (card), Seto resolves to draw out the White Dragon and
claim it as his servant, no matter that the cost to its host.

Mekou-chan's
sources have found out that the girl's name is Kisara. Domo
arigato for the info. ^_^ That's according to the manga, I think (it might be something
totally different once the dubbers put it through the wringer x_X).
New:
In around vol. 310-311, Akunadin arranges for Kisara to be brought down to a secret dungeon where
he's been experimenting on criminals in order to find ways of
increasing a soul monster's strength. He's
really starting to become ruthless around this time. The
overseer of the dungeons, Gebelk (short, hooded guy with a quadruple
chin XP... actually he looks a bit like the shorter half-mask ghoul
Yami fought with in Battle City... during that double-duel with
Seto... y'know?), welcomes them with a sinister smile, leading them to two
thrones set up for their viewing pleasure.
A bunch of bandits had been gathered and
pitted against each other in a duel. Apparently a soul monster gets stronger when the master is
under pressure, i.e. desperate, angry or afraid (Liz: Yeah, like we could've figured that out
on our own).
Kisara is dragged in and pitted against two bandits, but
instead of fighting, she closes her eyes resignedly and accepted her
apparent death. Seto, shocked that the girl would give up so easily,
steps in and summons his soul monster, Diyousu, to defend her (much to
Akunadin's ire). However he soon finds that two-on-one are not good
odds, especially when the bandits are thirsty for revenge.
In a desperate
move, Seto orders Diyousu to slice the chains holding up the
platforms they're standing on (almost giving Akunadin a heart attack
in fear for his son). Seto manages to grab one of the dangling chains before he
falls into the Deep-Dark-Clichd-Pit-of-Doom.
Things don't go quite as planned, though.
One of the thugs has a spider-type monster and saves himself by
spinning a web. What's more, the web now has Seto's Diyousu literally tied up. |

Just when
things are looking really bad and Akunadin looks like he's gonna pop a few
major veins from all the stress, Kisara begins to glow and the Blue Eyes White Dragon
appears! (**fanfare**) Encircling Seto and Kisara in a protective cocoon, the
Blue Eyes glares up at the thug and his monster.

People
gawk and Seto tries to wake Kisara, who'd fallen unconscious some
time during the whole falling-to-our-doom thing, but Gebelk warns Seto that Kisara's baa and kaa have merged
to form the BEWD, that's why she's unconscious. If he
wakes her, the BEWD will probably disappear, and they'll be left
totally defenseless.
Meanwhile, the dragon seems to have had
enough of waiting and opens its mouth for a very familiar
white-lightning attack. ^__^ The final thug is incinerated in a
blinding white flash,
but no, it doesn't stop there. The blast goes all the way up to
ground level (almost singeing a few eyebrows off the local palace guards) and
keeps on going into the night sky. I'm amazed no one raises
the issue afterwards. A massive beam of energy lighting up the night is kinda hard to
miss, but still none of the other priests ever mention
anything about it afterwards... Nope, nothing suspicious at
all. XD Those poor Egyptians. Just think of the kinda of life they
must lead if all this sort of stuff is considered normal.
**giggles** |
Anyway, with Seto and Kisara
safely on the ground, Akunadin starts gloating about how powerful the
dragon is and decides that Seto will be the dragon's new vessel.
Gebelk agrees that it would be a simple enough thing to do. All they need
is to separate Kisara's soul from her body. However, since the Blue
Eyes is the combination of her kaa and baa (probably why the
BEWD is so powerful) that would leave Kisara soulless.
Now, Seto's no idiot. A soulless body = dead person, and he's appalled.
Akunadin insists that with the dragon on his side, Seto can take his
rightful place as the new pharaoh. Instead of agreeing, however, Seto turns
his back and declares that finding the still-absent Pharaoh Yami
should be top priority and walks away.
