The Scene changes.. to Terra.. many, many ages later. A man clad in black armor stands in front of a glass 'pod of sorts, a genome girl wearing White and reds within it "Ages past.....Terra advancing to its peek and the war against Serapharum long forgotten. Terra was now a dying planet, and so started the conflict which those of Gaia know as the 'terra war'. The elemental fiends primary concern was the survival of Terra, being why we aligned ourselves with Garland. When it was decided that the Genome 'Mikoto' would be granted a soul, it was I who suggested the soul of the ancient summoner. Over the centuries that very soul had risen to the state of heroism time, and time again, so it seemed like a good choice for a 'hero' of Terra." A Strange red glow fills the tank, and the Genome girl starts to Stir.. her eyes opening as the glow is absorbed into her... and once again the area around you goes black.
"I never considered failure a possibility, and it is why I made the grave mistake of choosing that soul for Mikoto. Soon after that Kuja with the power of Trance destroyed Terra, and Mikoto and the remaining Genomes were brought to Gaia...." The scene changes to what looks to be a quaint.. village of sorts (the black mage village) on a sunny day and Mikoto is siting down outside... looking up into the sky "The Elemental fiends were enslaved by Kuja after he gained the power of trance.. and once he was destroyed.... we were free to do as we wished.. through extremely weakened thanks to our apparent 'deaths' during the Terra war. Since the remaining souls of Terra now lay within Gaia it was agreed we'd simply make it our new home. ... My first priority was the researching of 'Trance', how to counter it, and how to stop it so it would be possible to stop another 'kuja' if another one appeared.... I was completely unaware that Mikoto had even survived the destruction of Terra, I assumed as the 3rd choosen hero of Terra should would of Fought against Kuja in the end. I now admit it was a foolish emotion driven act in which I ignored the possiblity. I did not 'like' being inslaved by Kuja...in all my existance such a thing had never happend and for that reason is why discovering the secrets of trance became my top priority."
Slowly Mikoto fades away from her seat "Eventually Mikoto met her end, dying of old age as all mortals do. Her soul went into Gaias life stream.. and was reborn twice more before I discovered it many years later....."
