Summary: Elizabeth returns to Port Charles after five and a half years away with a surprise for
Ric.
Author�s Note: Okay, This is assuming that Elizabeth finds out all about Ric and his agenda after their date to the art museum on the night they made love for the first time. She left town without so much as a good-bye to anyone. She hasn�t kept in contact with anyone, and she changed her last name to Hardy so no one could find her.

Elizabeth made her way to the lobby and saw Luke standing alone. �Hey you.� She said, giving
him a hug.
�Hey darlin�.� Luke smiled at her. �I�m glad you made it.�
�Yeah, I thought about not coming, but I finally decided I needed to be here.�
�Have you seen Ric yet? He�s been out and about.�
Elizabeth felt nervous. �Um�nope. I figured I�d just see him at the reception. I hope anyway. I
wasn�t prepared to run into him any earlier than that.�
�Well, then,� Luke extended a bent arm to her. �I guess we better get seated before he decides to
come looking for you again.�
�Wait, he was looking for me?�
Luke just smiled. She grabbed his hand and let him lead her to a seat in the front. Just five minutes
after they were seated, the wedding music started. Michael, one of the ushers, escorted in
Courtney�s mother.
Elizabeth followed them with her eyes until they reached their seats, then she saw him. Ric and
the rest of the groomsmen had entered through the front of the church. His eyes were locked on
hers in an instant. He gave her a subtle smile. She attempted to give him a casual one back, but a
goofy grin barged its way onto her face. She noticed him laugh a little.
They continued to stare and smile and laugh at each other until the bride�s song began and Luke
gently pulled her to her feet. She reluctantly tore her eyes from Ric to watch as Courtney made
her way down the aisle. She looked so beautiful and so happy. Elizabeth flashed back to her own
wedding to Lucky. She didn�t look that happy. She was plagued by Gia�s words. She�d told him
that Lucky wasn�t in love with her anymore. And as soon as Elizabeth reached him at the altar and
looked into his eyes, she knew Gia was right.
But that didn�t matter now because Lucky was finally up there with someone he was crazy about.
And hopefully someday soon, she would be too.
The ceremony took about an hour, and then the wedding party led the way to the reception hall.
They all stood in a line while the guests went up and shook their hands and wished the bride and
groom their best wishes. Luke and Elizabeth were two of the firsts to approach them.
Elizabeth said hi to Bobbie and Penny again, giving them both hugs. She joked for a second with
Brenda about her feelings for Ric. She thanked Carly for helping her realize what she needed to
do. She told Lucky and Courtney that they were going to be so happy. She gave Nik a kiss and
tried to catch up with him in the thirty seconds she had. She said an awkward hello to Jason and
Sonny. Then she met Ric.
�So, you made it.� He flashed the private smile he reserved for only her.
�Yeah. Couldn�t miss Lucky finally getting married.� She felt a little awkward trying to make idol
conversation with the man of her dreams!
�Um�I need to talk to you. You wanna go back into the church really quick?� Ric started to pull
her with him.
�Hey, you have to greet the guests. We�ll talk later. I�m not going anywhere.� She smiled at him
quick before letting Luke lead her into the dining area.
She mingled around, catching up with Gia, Greg, Coleman, and more people, while she waited for
Ric to finish his duties as a groomsman.
She was sitting at a table by herself when she heard his sexy, masculine voice behind her. �Hey
sexy, care to dance?�
She turned around to face him raising her right eyebrow. �You talkin� to me?�
�Do you want me to be talkin� to you?�
�Definitely.�
She took his extended hand and let him lead her onto the dance floor. He pulled her tight to him
and they began to sway to the light jazzy music pounding from the DJ�s speakers. Elizabeth could
feel everyone�s eyes on them, but she didn�t care. She didn�t mind being the center of attention.
Even if it wasn�t her day. She knew when her and Ric danced, they were on fire. When the music
stopped, they continued to hold each other.
�So,� Ric started. �I have something that I want to give you, but I want to do it alone.� He
looked at everyone still watching them. �Too many eyes in here.�
She smiled. �Yeah, tell me about it.�
�Come on.� Ric led her outside to a small garden area filled with tulips and roses and any other
kind of flower imaginable.
�This place is��
�Perfect.� Ric finished for her.
�Perfect.� She smiled at him. �Exactly what I was thinking.� She walked close to him. �So what is
this thing you want to give me?�
Ric bowed his head slightly, a small blush covering his cheeks. �It�s�um�� He looked back into
her eyes. This time when he started, he had confidence and strength. �I love you Elizabeth. I think
it definitely started when we first met, but I didn�t really except it until that Christmas Eve. Do
you remember that? You didn�t want to go home, and I didn�t want to work. That�s when I knew
that you were it for me.� He tried to blink away the tears that had formed in his eyes, but he
couldn�t. They started to fall down his cheeks. It didn�t matter. His faced matched Elizabeth�s
now. They were both crying. �When you left, a part of me died. I tried my damnedest to move on
with my life because I thought I�d never be with you again.� He paused for just a second, trying
to compose himself. �But when I saw you at the hospital, Elizabeth, that part of me I thought was
gone forever, it came alive. You are my heart. I need you in my life forever. And I think�� He
smiled at her. �That I�ve come up with a way to make that happen.� He pulled a small box out of
his jacket pocket and slowly lowered himself onto one knee. �Elizabeth Webber, will you marry
me?�
Elizabeth fell into his arms. �After that? How could you think I�d say no?� She planted kisses all
over his face. �I love you too. I can�t be without you anymore.�
�Well, it�s about time!� They looked up to see Carly, Sonny, Jason, Brenda, Lucky, and Courtney
all standing at the entrance to the garden.
They both stood up and tried to wipe away their tears. �Hey guys.� Elizabeth smiled at them.
�So, does this mean you�re staying in Port Charles for good this time?� Lucky questioned
Elizabeth.
She looked up at Ric. �Just try to send me away.�
