well, I lied...
The Pont du Gard is a Roman aqueduct memorialized in the VW New Beetle commercials of a couple years ago.  It was built over the river Gard 165 feet high, and brought fresh water to the city of Nimes.

We didn't let Tabitha play too near the edge.
Though the aqueduct was clogged with silt in the 9C and no longer functions, the architecture has survived thousands of years - through flooding of the river below, and various construction projects, one of which widened the bridge and cut holed through the arches to allow carraiges to cross!
There are three sets of arches, 7 on the first level, followed by 11, and then 35 on top, which held the aqueduct and allowed water to flow.
