The Yule Ball

G
inny and I have decided to celebrate winter vacation by staying up all night and having doughnuts for breakfast in the morning. Right now, I'm bored, so I'm tryping this now.

Since it is only 11 PM and some other kids had decided to stay up late, too, the common room is pretty full. Hermione is reading
History of the Wizarding World (it might have something interesting in it, but I wouldn't read it cover to cover). Fred and George are working on some new thing (maybe I'll go see what they're doing). Harry is nowhere.

That isn't all that strange now. He used to hang out with Cho, but after they kissed, Draco Malfoy had kept making kissing sounds whenever Harry and Cho were hanging out together, so they stay away from each other and Malfoy. Though this wasn't my fault, alother factor was.

I don't feel like typing anymore, so I'll tell you about Quidditch later. Yawn.

The whole Quidditch thing started one Monday morning when I was running late for Potions. I passed a sign in the hall that read:

***Quidditch Tryouts***
Tuesday, September 12, 2000 on the Quidditch Field.
See the head of your house to sign up.

I had dismissed the thought from my mind at first. After all, I was really bad at sports, and had only started flying that summer.

Then again... you couldn't say I was a bad flyer, and Harry got on the team the first time he flew. What was the worst that could happen? Uh, I could fall on my face in front of a third of the school. And Malfoy would hear and tease me. But I probably wouldn't fall.

So I decided to try out.

I did OK at the tryouts, but I didn't think that I had gotten on the team. Then, a week later, I noticed some kids crowding around a flyer. I decided to take a look.

I couldn't believe it. I was the replacement Seeker on the Gryffindor Quidditch team.

Harry wasn't happy about that. Bet he thought he was too good for a replacement Seeker. Well, he wasn't! Ha! And now he doesn't even practice Quidditch anymore.

I've still got my Charms homework to do, so I've gotta go.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

It's exactly one week after the Yule Ball. That night, everyone in the girls dorm was running all over the place, worrying about this hairdo and that necklace. I hadn't brushed my hair for a little while, and I needed to do something to relax, so I picked up my hair brush....

I couldn't see a thing. I took my wand out of my pocket and said, "Lumos". My wand lit up, and I could see that I was in a forest. Harry was lying on the ground in front of me. He appeared to be sleeping or unconscious. I shook him, and he opened his eyes.

"Liz. Get out of here. Now. You can't apparate. It's the Forbidden Forest. Go north-- that's the way out. Voldemort..."

"STUPEFY!" cried a voice. It was Voldemort.

Suddenly, death eaters surrounded me. "My plan has worked well. Today will be the most important day in the history of the kingdom of Lord Voldemort."

What was Voldemort's plan? Was Harry working for Voldemort? Was that what he had been doing? I had so many questions, but no answers.

"Would you like an explanation first?"
First?

"Yes," I said.

"Your brother strayed into the Forbidden Forest one evening. We had been watching him, and were expecting him. We surrounded him, and I put him under the Imperius Curse. Your brother turned your hairbrush into a portkey, which brought you here."

The hairbrush!

"Now that you have your explanation, I will kill you," Voldemort stated, as though this were something that he said every day.

I took a step back.

"You can't escape," Voldemort said.

I took another step back. Suddenly, I was back in the girls' dorm. I was safe now, away from that awful nightmare in the Forbidden Forest. But Harry wasn't!! Did I have time to get help from Dumbledore? No, I didn't.

I ran into the boys' dorm and got Harry's Firebolt from under his bed. I opened the window, and flew off. I didn't have any time to waste.

B
ut when I got there, Voldemort and the death eaters were gone. Harry was still lying on the ground. There was a note next to him that said:

"I'll be back when you least expect it, and you won't be lucky next time."

I put Harry on the broom, got on, and flew back to Hogwarts.
