SYSTEM OF A DOWN will host a special Kerrang!-sponsored meet �and-greet party at Birmingham XL�s club on December 21 � the first night of their two-night stand as special guests to Black Sabbath at Birmingham�s NEC Arena.
All four members of the band � mad-haired singer Serj Tankian, guitarist Daron Malakian, bassist Shavo Odadjian and drummer John Dolmayan � will be at XL�s on the night to sing fan�s items and talk political discontent. Others star�s from the Sabbath bill may also put in an appearance. There well also be plenty of free give-aways. Doors will open at 10pm, with the festivities continuing until at least 3am.
Even better, entry is free to anyone carrying a ticket for either the December 21 or 22 Black Sabbath NEC shows. Kerrang! readers can also get in free simple by taking along a copy of this very issue on the night. System Of A Down have now begun demoing material for their second album in LA. So far, the quartet have written 10 new tracks � �Chicken Stew� the only one currently blessed with a title.
There are also 12 tracks left over from the first album sessions, including �Temper�, �Honey� and �X�. Rick Ruben is once again likely to produce the album, which is set for release through Columbia next year.
�We�re not bout to go pussy and write a radio album,� say drummer Dolmayan. �The next album might even be crazier than the first!�
System play their own headlining show as part of Kerrang! Z-Fest at London Astoria on December 20.
