Dear Journal,

The rip in my picture wasn’t very big, it was at the bottom, and I showed Hilary and Alicia.  Hilary told me to go tell a teacher.  So I went and told Mrs. Eleazer (the art teacher), then she went and talked to the black girls.  Then Mrs. Freeman got into it (the 6th grade administer).  So Mrs. Freeman ended up telling me they would pull the film from the camera and see what really happened because the black girls were lying, and Hilary got into it.   The black girls kept saying I let them have it, then when Hilary got into it they started saying Hilary had told them to rip it.  So I will let you know what happens when they watch the film from the camera.  The Renaissance festival was pretty cool.  I got tons of food and I paid to go on two rides.   I had $20.00 and I only spent $15.00.  Here’s all the stuff I got, an ocarina, which is an instrument, and you can wear it as a necklace, I got some fried ice cream, a bottle of Sprite, and I paid for those two rides.  There is this new girl at our school named Crystal.

Dear Journal,

This new girl named Crystal who I mentioned yesterday has been at our school for a few weeks, she is pretty nice, I like her alright, she plays the clarinet.  We are getting along well.  I can’t wait until this weekend because I am going to visit my sister Kathy in Tennessee.  I absolutely can’t wait to see her.  There is only one thing I am not too thrilled about and that is the ride up there, which is about 4-5 hours.  I always try to fall asleep when I go on really long rides, but for some reason I never can.  I only try to go to sleep because the ride seems to take a lot less time that way.  It is just going to be me and my Mom going, my Daddy is staying here.

Dear Journal,

I’m having an awesome time at Kathy’s.  I just wish I didn’t have to leave tomorrow.  First when we got here we went and got something to eat at Hardee's, then we went to pick up Trista, Kathy’s best friend and the maid-of-honor.  Then we went to a bridal shop and found Kathy’s wedding dress.  Then we got lunch at the Olive Garden, and I got Chicken Parmesan, which was delicious.  Then we looked for dresses for me and Trista.  After looking about 10 places and having to try on about 20 dresses we finally found one.  We are both wearing the exact same dress, size, and shoes.  They are hunter green, and I think they are really gorgeous dresses.

Dear Journal,

Today Mert came over first before we were about to leave to go home.  Mert is Keith’s mom.  When we finally got home I was so tired, I barely even missed my Dad, just Tizzy.  The only time I really missed my family was when I spent a whole week with my Aunt Susan, but that will be the last time I call my Mom three times a day for a whole week.

Dear Journal,

I’m so bored I have absolutely nothing to do.  Nothing that interested happened, I didn’t go to school today.  Mostly I talked on the phone, and played some card games.  I found these solitaire games in this book my sister gave me.

Dear Journal,

Today I called Amy when I woke up, which was around 10 a.m.  I was hoping the whole time the phone was ringing that she was already awake, because if she wasn’t she would be a bit upset with me if I woke her up, especially since today was a Saturday and we don’t have school.  So when she did answer we talked for a little while and I asked her if she wanted to go to the movies to see Twister with me, and she said she could.  So we ended up going to the 4 p.m. showing.  The movie was pretty good.

Dear Journal,

Lately I’ve been thinking of how much I really like Allan.  I mean I like him a little bit more than a friend.  I’ve promised myself I wouldn’t tell anybody just for the sake of privacy.  A lot of people tend to think he is one of the biggest jerks in the whole school, but I don’t know…I guess that’s part of the problem.

Dear Journal,

Today Alicia called me and asked me if I would call Sidney (a guy she likes) and ask him to go to the end of the year dance with her on Friday.  I told her yeh, if she would do the same for me, but only with Dan (even if he does go to Whitesville Road).  She said she would, but since she met Christy at my slumber party she would talk to her and ask her to ask him.  So I said okay…then when she called back she said he had said, “HECK NO!”  I really wasn’t that surprised, I pretty much expected he would say no anyways.  Then I called Sidney and this is what was said: “Hey, Sidney this is Elizabeth.”, “Who?”, “Elizabeth, anyway will you go to the end of the year dance with Alicia?”, “Hey did Kelli give you my number?”, “No, this isn’t a joke.”, “Then how did you get it?”, “From Alicia, so what’s the answer yes or no?”, “I guess yeh, I don’t care.”, “Okay, bye.”, “Bye.”  So I called Alicia back and she was all like, “OH MY GOSH, YES YES!!”  I was happy for her, but you know what later on that week she decided she wasn’t going to the dance and went home with Jennifer and went to Red’s (the skating ring) as usual.

Dear Journal,

Today we finally got our yearbooks, which was pretty cool.  Guess what, Amber one of my friends has started her period.  So I’m glad that I’m not the only one now, which is somewhat of a relief because now I have an actual friend I can talk to about it, who understands and won’t get grossed out.  I think Amber and I have become closer and better friends lately.  Sometimes I have doubts about going to Callaway next year, but anything’s possible even staying friends with other people at different schools.  I know Amy and I are still going to be best friends.

Dear Journal,

Today Amy let me have her yearbook until lunch. So I wrote this really long letter in hers and at lunch I gave it back to her, then I let her have me yearbook until P.E., where she would give it to Hilary to give to me in Math Class. So after our explorations I went to math as usual and I walked up to Hilary’s desk before I went to my seat and I asked her if she had my yearbook. She told me no, and I was thinking, “Okay…” then I asked if Amy had told her to tell me anything and she responded again with a no. So as soon as I got home today I called Amy and asked about my yearbook, and she told me how she went to locker and someone had stolen it. The good part is her Mom will buy me a new one and Amy will give it to me during lunch.

Dear Journal,

Today in science we got to start on a project, which is a group project. I’m so happy because I’m teamed up with Ted (he’s prep but I don’t care). He is so fine! Today while I was in the group I realized he wasn’t that as much of a prep as I thought he was. I mean I always thought that Ted was the type that acts like “Mr. Perfect”, you know, like never listens to rap music or likes to make fun of people. Now I realize that is just a fake persona made to show off in front of others. He started to act more like a dork than anything else. I also get to sit right next to him, while we are in our groups. I got my new yearbook from Amy today, which was a relief because I was so afraid that they would be sold out.

Dear Journal,

Today while in our groups and working on our project it was so embarrassing. While we were working on our diorama and all Ted was making a sun for the sky. Then when he was finished he said, “Here’s my sun.” and I said, “Not your sun our sun (son).” He didn’t realize what the joke was, but I thought it was a bit funny, I mean keeping in mind I like him and all. Today Mary gave me Jim Jones’s phone number. He’s another guy I like. So when I got home from school I decided to call Amy so she could think of a good reason to call him. So we thought that I could ask him if he likes Carol and if he says yes to ask him if he would go out with her (Carol hates him). So I called him up and asked him if he liked her, and he said “NO!”. Then I started laughing and he said, “I don’t see what’s so funny.” So I told him the reason I was laughing was because she wanted to go out with him, and he just said oh, and I told him bye and hung up.

Dear Journal,

Today my Mom and Dad went to this Andersonville reinactment thing for the Civil War. I stayed home by myself most of the day. I did pretty much what I pleased, and I called Amy once but she was at a softball game. So then I called her back about an hour later and she was home, but she wanted to take a shower to clean up from playing softball. She called me back later on, though.

Dear Journal,

Today I was pretty sure we were going to church, but we didn’t. I was kind of disappointed because you know me wanting to see Dan and all. Around 1:30 I called Amy and she was at Callaway Gardens with Lora, for her birthday party and I must admit I did feel some resentment that Lora didn’t invite me, but I will get over it. For the rest of the day I didn’t really do much, but relax.

Dear Journal,

Today I was supposed to start my period, but I didn’t. Then my friend Amber told me when she started hers she went to the doctor and the doctor said for the first year your period won’t be on the same day every month, but jump around a little. Today Jim told me that Carol told him that I like him. That just makes me so mad because the only way she could have found out I like him is from Amy. So that means Amy must have told Carol, which could possibly destroy my trust in Amy.

Dear Journal,

Today we had Olympic Days at school, which was cool. I liked it a lot, but we had to sit on the bleachers in the gym. You see Erica let Hilary use her marker and she lost the cap to it so Hilary said she would buy Erica a new one. So anyways I asked Hilary if I could use it to go over all the names on the back of my shirt that were in pen. Hilary said I couldn’t use it, so I asked Erica and Erica said yes. Then Hilary still wouldn’t give it to me so I kept asking Erica who continued to say yes. The I said I was going to tell Mrs. Saucier, Hilary said fine go tell. I really didn’t tell on her, I asked Mrs. Saucier something about how they keep score for each team. I told Hilary that Mrs. Saucier said that she had to give it me, then I have to give it back to Erica. She didn’t and finally we started fighting over it, and I finally got it and used it. Hilary was mad at me for awhile, but then we made up with Amy’s help.

Dear Journal,

Today for Olympic Days all we did was sit and watch the 6th grade Academic bowl, it was pretty boring because we didn’t have to do anything athletic. During our break we get a chance to go to the concession stand and I saw Jim who told me that Amy, Carol, and Alexander told him that I like him, and at the point I was boiling mad mostly at Amy. Then when Jim passes me again later on he told me that Hilary had just told him that I like him. Then right when I was about to walk in the door I told Jim that I used to like him, but I don’t anymore (which isn’t true). I did confront Amy and she said she had not even seen Jim all day, so I decided when I got home I was just going to call Jim and straighten everything out.

Dear Journal,

Anyways, about today at school we continued Olympic Games. Our team, France, got to sit by the U.S.A. team, which is the team Jim is on!! I got to sit there and talk to him the whole time. We sat there and had many different conversations. Then later on that day when our Olympic Days/Games were over we had our wishpoint party where we went outside to play and it just so happened that Jim’s class was out there. It was so cool, because I got to sit there and talk to him again!! OH GUESS WHAT!! I don’t like Dan anymore, I absolutely can’t believe that. It’s like I miss liking him because I liked him for so long and so much.
