Entry 226

December 1st, 1996

Dear Diary,

What’s up?  I didn’t go to church today because I didn’t feel very good.  Other than that not much else happened as it seems to be regularly on Sundays for me.

Entry 227

December 2nd, 1996

Dear Diary,

I went to school today because Friday was the end of our Thanksgiving break, but Christmas break is coming up pretty soon and we get two weeks off for that which is definitely a plus. So we only have about three more weeks before then.

Entry 228

December 3rd, 1996

Dear Diary,

Today I went to school as usual, I forgot my clarinet again, but we didn’t have to do anything in band today anyways, because Mr. Dawson wasn’t there so we were forced to watch this very boring music video thing.

Dear Diary,

Today I went to church it was pretty cool. Tomorrow is the Christmas parade and our church is in it so that means that I will be in it. I will either be sitting on the float or walking along the side of it. I hope I get to…well, actually I don’t care what I get to do.

Dear Diary,

Today in the parade I saw a lot of people, but I didn’t wave, but maybe about five times. I sat on top of the truck with Brittany and Andrew. It was really uncomfortable.

Dear Diary,

I am so happy it is the weekend I need a break.  This week went by so fast actually it went by almost too fast that I barely remember anything that happened.  I hate it when they go by like that because then it feels almost like they never happened.

Entry 232

December 7th, 1996

Dear Diary,

Today we were going to rake leaves for the church, but we couldn’t because Christy and Dan had to go visit their grandparents. So we had to put it off again for next weekend, which I hope won’t be cancelled for the third time.

Entry 233

December 8th, 1996

Dear Diary,

Once again my Mom went to church today, but only stayed for Sunday school because my Mom was sick with a cold (of course as always).  I am glad we don’t have choir practice tonight though because the lady in charge of it her and her family went to the mountains this weekend.

Dear Diary,

Here are the boys I like:  Ray, Joey, Dan, and Mark.  That is only 4 people that isn’t that bad.  I like these guys pretty much because they’re cute and nice.

December 10th, 1996

Dear Diary,

In Pre-Algebra we learned out to make these little cube things out of paper today.  I was excited about it because I always wanted to learn how to make them and now I am happy that I know.

Entry 236

December 11th, 1996

Dear Diary,

Today I went to church as usual. I sang in the choir during practice for our Christmas Program and then I stopped because I got kind of bored. Then I went in the back part of the church and Dan told me to come over where he was, he said wanted to talk.

December 12th-13th, 1996

Dear Diary,

Today I had the most horrifying experience that I have ever had. I got home from school and I realized I left my key inside. I just sat down on the front porch waiting for my Mom, but she never came home and huge thunderstorm ended up coming. I had nowhere to go so I just had to sit in this corner right next to an electric circuit. I was extremely terrified, I kept praying over and over to God to help me get out of the situation alive. I also kept asking myself such questions as what is 5*5 because I was scared that I might get so frightened that I might forget something I learned in school. My Mom finally got home around 5 p.m. and other than a little startled I was alright.

Dear Diary,

We only have one week of school left and eleven days until Christmas!  And no I don’t believe in Santa Claus anymore I mean I am 12 yrs. old going on 13 in the 7th grade.

December 15th, 1996

Dear Diary,

At church today my Mom and I only stayed for Sunday school because my Mom wasn’t feeling too good.  My Dad didn’t even come and just stayed home.

Entry 241

December 16th, 1996

Dear Diary,

Today started our last week of school until the holidays.  I can’t wait, I absolutely love Christmas! There is just something about it that gives me joy and happiness.  I feel like during Christmas no matter how hard I try I can’t get mad at anybody for anything.

Entry 242

December 17th, 1996

Dear Diary,

Today I went to school as usual. I hope it snows, I love snow, and I want it to so bad it has snowed every Christmas for me. Amy said she lived here all her life and not one Christmas has it snowed, but that’s a lie because it’s snowed every Christmas that I have lived here, which is since 1992.

Entry 243

December 18th, 1996

Dear Diary,

Today on the news it said that it was supposed to snow tonight, but everybody at school kept arguing saying that either it was or wasn’t. I believed it was, but I kept my mouth shut. Yet guess what, it snowed and tomorrow we don’t have school; isn’t that great?!

Entry 244

December 19th, 1996

Dear Diary,

Today I basically stayed home and didn’t do much of anything. I went outside in the snow for a little while, it was pretty fun…I guess. I hope we don’t have school tomorrow, but we probably will; which absolutely sucks. Ah man, it just said on the news that we do have school tomorrow, shit!

Entry 245

December 20th, 1996

Dear Diary,

We had to go to school today and I am just glad that we get two weeks off and today is our last day.  Amy gets three weeks because she’s going to Colorado to go skiing, a thing her family does every year around Christmas.  It kind of sucks though because that means I won’t have anyone to talk to except for Mary.

Entry 246

December 21st, 1996

Dear Diary,

We left for Florida yesterday at about 10 a.m. to visit my Aunt Kathy and Sarah as a surprise.  We’re going back home tomorrow which sucks because I hate that long ass drive.

Entry 247

December 22nd, 1996

Dear Diary,

We got back from Florida around 4 p.m.  Our program thing at church was at 4:45 p.m.  It went pretty well, I mean we didn’t mess up or anything, or at least I didn’t.  Either way I had fun and that is the important thing.

Entry 248

December 23rd, 1996

Dear Diary,

Amy came over today and we exchanged gifts for Christmas, I got her a little black stuffed dog animal. It has a heart in its mouth; it looks like Amy’s real black dog named Pepper. The only sad part about Pepper is that she is blind.

Entry 249

December 24th, 1996

Dear Diary,

Today is Christmas Eve, which means that we each get to open one present under the tree. I opened one from my Mom, which was a wee-gee board (I love that game). It is like so cool to have one, since I have wanted it forever.

Entry 250

December 25th, 1996

Dear Diary,

Today is Christmas and I got a lot of neat stuff.  I would list them but I really just don’t have the time because it is time for dinner so yea..

Entry 251

December 26th, 1996

Dear Diary,

Today I went to visit my Grandmother with my Mom and Dad. When we got there we started planning where we are going to eat dinner. We chose some seafood place, where I ordered some fried shrimp with some fries.

Entry 252

December 27th, 1996

Dear Diary,

Today we came back from my Grandmothers, when we got home Kathy and Keith were here, they’re staying until Monday. We didn’t do much today though, since we got home at about 2:00. We watched a movie while we ate dinner, I had fried shrimp and everybody else had steak.

Entry 253

December 28th, 1996

Dear Diary,

My Mom and I went shopping at the mall in Atlanta today.  My Mom got her some stuff and she also bought me an outfit to wear to church and unfortunately it makes me look way too fat so now I am dreading going to church.

Entry 254

December 29th, 1996

Dear Diary,

Today Amy and I went to see a movie, we saw “One Fine Day”. I liked it a lot it was pretty funny. Then when I got back home we ate dinner and went to see the Christmas lights at Callaway Gardens, it took about an hour to look at them all.

Entry 255

December 30th, 1996

Dear Diary,

Today Kathy and Keith left and went home. I basically just stayed home all day and relaxed. I talked on the phone a lot, mostly to Amy though, because I am spending the night with her tomorrow night (New Year’s Eve).

Entry 256

December 31st, 1996

Dear Diary,

Today I went over to Amy’s house at about 5:00. We played on her computer, we ate dinner and also drank some wine and champagne, it was really strong from the alcohol in it. But it was pretty good; we did a lot of other stuff afterwards. We stayed up until about 4 or 5 in the morning.
