Welcome to LIVJA, an international travelling band of friends who are all talented musicians in their own right.
What began as a project for the 2002 Jokkmokk Sámi Winter Market has become a collective of musicians who play earthy melodic and rhythmic music which accompanies didgeridoo, ancient drumming techniques, sweet song and chanting.
Although with roots firmly in ancient traditions LIVJA recently took part in an experimental media broadcast via the internet which included their Saturday night concert at the 2004 Jokkmokk Winter Market. The concert can be viewed here:

The festival which engages LIVJA does not only obtain a ten member band capable of soothing an audience into trance like mediation or having them dancing to tribal rhythms. The band also includes English world music identities Nigel Shaw and Carolyn Hillyer whose talent and experience shines in the breadth and depth of their art:

Seth Folsom is a multi-instrumentalist but he is most comfortable delivering moving examples of bluegrass and folk ballads. Many of these are traditional pieces which Seth learnt around the farms and barn dances of his native state of Kentucky. He is capably of performing accoustically, on both banjo and fiddle, or as an unaccompanied vocalist singing the traditonal verses of long lost drifters and jail cell poets.

Johan Piribauer is a songwriter/singer and guitarist from Moskosel, Lapland, between Arvidsjaur and Jokkmokk. Although he is now living in both Stockholm and Moskosel, Johan remains passionate about the vast beauty of northern Sweden and the strong culture which it nourishes. He has performed throughout Sweden both as a solo artist and with his band. He is perfect both as a pub or café troubadour and as a larger venue artist. More about Johan is available here:
