part two {bloodgiver}

Winter sat up suddenly, now awake from her heavy sleep. She looked around and saw the spot next to her bare. Marko was gone.

She eyed the area of the cave entrance, trying to see if it was day or night. Not able to tell from that distance, she got up. Moving towards the entrance, she ran her fingers over the two holes in her neck - they were carefully healing.

She slowly approached the entrance and saw that it was close to morning, about two or three A.M. This meant she had slept for at least twelve hours. But how can that be? The most she had ever slept in her life was about nine. She wasnt even overtired. She was energetic, now that she thought about it

No matter. Where was Marko? If he left, he should be coming back soon. Was he out with the other Lost Boys? Did they let him eat?

Damnit. They better have. She muttered to the dark sky, which was now filled with stars and a slight gradient of yellow-orange. If those boys didnt let him feed, she would get severely pissed offand show them a thing or two. They could break her neck or kill her some other gruesome way in an instant, but she didnt care. Marko needed to eat, and that was her life.

What if they turned her into a vampire? Even half-vampire, at that. She wouldnt be able to give her blood to Marko anymore. She took notice of this and became frustrated, now hearing a pair of shrill screams in the distance. The sound of flapping wings hit almost immediately afterwards.

Here they come she said, looking up to the moon. Clouds were coming in, it almost looked like it was going to rain. They slowly began to move over the moon, to cover it, hide it from existence. Winter turned and dashed back into the deep pit of the cave, and waited.

Two bodies fell to the dirty floor of the broken home, both with broken necks. David was the first to appear fully, while Dwayne and Paul followed. Those two began to immediately feed off of the bodies, while David, still in vampire-form, stared quietly at Winter.

Youre awake.

Winter sat below Markos secondary bed, one leg out in front of her and the other bent at the knee. She stared back at David. Yeah.

Marko fed already. David said, slowly turning back to his human form. He shook his head a little, as if trying to get rid of an annoying headache. Winter licked her lips and sat up a little straighter as David continued to speak. Just as I have.

Winter glanced to Dwayne and Paul, who were shoving each other about, trying to get more and more from the dead bodies. Her eyes shifted back to David. Where is he, David?

He grinned slightly, giving a steady chuckle. Paul stopped and glanced up and over to Winter, his eyes grinning and his mouth covered with dark red fuel. David spoke as Winter connected eyes with Paul.

Paul. Winter wants to know where Marko is.

Does she, David? You think I should break it to her fast or slow? Pauls gaze moved from Winter up to David, who wiped away a stream of blood from his neck that he must have missed earlier.

Slow, David drawled. I want to watch her reaction.

Winter felt herself tense up, and she had no idea what the boys were up to. Dwayne stopped eating and wiped blood off of his chin, turning around fully, and Paul got up and walked towards Winter. David sat down in a big, brown chair nearby, a malicious grin on his lips.

Paul kept his gaze on Winter the whole time, walking over her legs and grabbing a bar over the secondary bed, swinging himself around Winter and over the bed. He landed on the grimy floor on the other side of her, crouching down low to get eye-level with her. His eyes trailed her own, then down her cheek, her lips and down the length of her neck, smirking just so the entire time.

What did you do to Marko, Paul? Winter whispered, in fear that he did something unimaginable, something terriblesomething she would never forgive.

Have you felt the holes Marko left in your neck lately, Winter?

Winters eyebrows burrowed, and she hesitantly reached a hand up towards her neck. Paul nodded. Go on. Feel them.

Her fingers hit skin, and she felt nothing. No holes. Her fingertips scanned the whole side of her neck, and there was nothing there. Just smooth, slightly cold skin. Her eyes widened and she looked at Paul once more.

Are they there, Winter? Oh, uh oh, I guess they arent he stood up and walked back towards David and Dwayne, laughing. Hey David, vampires heal from insignificant things like holes in their necks pretty fast, dont they?

David watched Winter, nodding slowly. That they do, Paul.

Winter now realized what was going on. Someone turned her into a half-vampire. Someone, somehow turned her. Was itMarko? No, he wouldnt have done it without her knowing! Winter bolted up and ran towards David, but Paul and Dwayne rushed in front of her and held her back. She struggled frantically against them, shouting at David.

You asshole! What the fuck were you thinking?! I cant give to Marko anymore! You fucker!

David laughed. Calm down, will you? Do you know how many advantages there are to being a vampire? You never grow oldyou never dieyou can sleep all day and go out all night and have the time of your life.

Winter struggled even harder. I dont fucking care, David! I wanted to stay mortal! I wanted to be devoted to giving to Marko! I wanted to be there for him as long as I could! She now found that tears glossed her eyes, and began to trickle down her cheeks. She sobbed gently, and Dwayne and Paul slowly let her down and dropped her to the floor. They moved away and went back to their two bodies, and David leaned forward to look at Winter.

Then you should have given better services to more people. And you should have paid more attention to what was happening to you. Because of your foolish mistakes, you are no longer there for MarkoLeslie Amanda Trent. David got up and walked a slow circle around Winter.

Born August twelfth, 1970...died October thirty-first, 1987. Beloved daughter, sister and friend, will be missed dearly.

Winter pushed her hair back out of her face and glanced quickly to David, who was looking down at her. She slowly stood up, breathing heavily, tears staining her pale cheeks.

You bastard. She growled, pushing past him and making her way for the cave entrance. David turned and watched her go, laughing quietly.

Yes, girl. The cemetery. Thats where youll find him.
